Becoming a Surgical Technologist requires approximately 2 years of college. There are many Tech Schools who are offering certifications instead of Diplomas. This is not great for the medical community because we are getting new students with less education. There are quite a few hospitals who will not hire these individuals due to their lack of experience and education.

Should you choose a medical career do not under estimate the value of a degree versus a certification. Grady Hospital has been known to hire lower educated staff and as a result their patients suffer tremendously. Harvard has a Medical School that will yield many of good opportunities to become an excellent health care professional. Finally, do not become lazy and go for the Gold!!!

The Nursing field is wide open these days due to the economy. Baby Boomers are getting older as time passes on into the new Millennium. The Registered Nursing Field has been short on staff since the early 1980s. Even the president of the United States has urged High School graduates to enter the Nursing programs across the nation. Many colleges have been devoting many of their funds to recruit potential RN students for their programs. The next few years holds the promise for big payouts for those who become Registered Nurses.

The Art of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Today not only are health care professionals certified in CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation), but people that work in cafeterias, offices, and even stay at home moms are certified in providing life saving measures.

Understanding how CPR can save a life is very important. A CPR course can guide you and educate you in how to perform this life saving method. The course informs you how to deliver breaths to a person and how to correctly do chest compressions. Basically you are supplying the body with oxygen and a pulse, when a person is no longer able to do it. This is not a long term solution, but it provides the body with the essentials to hopefully have a better outcome to survive.

For hundreds of years, people have been observed giving mouth to mouth to help facilitate breathing/respiration while a person laid unresponsive. A CPR course will help you perfect your skills and knowledge in providing this method that is very crucial in a person regaining their life back. You can make a difference.
